|4:29||Almost five minutes before I remembered I’m supposed to be typing. It’s kinda captivating already.|
|7:53||Well that’s the cutest damn dog.|
|10:08||I’m really hoping the rest of the film is just Keanu and the puppy going about their daily lives.|
|15:05||I guess not. Oh well.|
|17:42||He went straight to it. That’s amazing.|
|20:11||Can’t have Keanu riding too many buses, can we?|
|21:05||Loving his sad realisation face. “Oh.”|
|27:48||Hoping Keanu’s not getting paid by the word here. Strong and silent type.|
|29:23||Is he saying Baba Yaga like the witch in Tomb Raider and does that mean Boogeyman because now it’s all starting to make sense.|
|32:42||I need to know more about Jimmy, please.|
|41:13||Why does Lovejoy keep popping up in stuff? It’s so weird!|
|47:16||No way does kilogramo translate to sixty pounds.|
|59:05||I’ve been okay with all of it but bashing on his stitches is bleurgh.|
|1:04:53||Did someone actually have to do that with their hands?|
|1:09:16||“This life… follows you.”|
|1:23:40||I mean, I get why this will give him rage, but the guy did welch on the contract.|
|1:24:59||I like that Lovejoy calls him Jonathan.|
|1:29:54||I know kung fu.|
|1:35:17||Wait, Eva Longoria?|
We spent quite a lot of time going, ooh Matrix and ooh Speed, but actually, this film did seem to avoid most of the normal action cliches. He spent the whole time looking for this guy and then eventually dispatched him with just a couple of gunshots. And it was quite fun how cars seemed to be his nemesis. He could fight a hundred people at once, but got hit by at least three cars.
It’s violent, sure, and mindless, but it does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s slick and arty, and Keanu somehow exudes something despite having very few lines and perhaps even less emotions to display. The fight scenes are great
I was a little distracted by Alfie Allen but that’s my own fault due to recent Game of Thrones stuff, rather than the movies. Also Adrienne Palicki, because I desperately couldn’t remember who she was but again that’s my brain and not the film. Oh, and Lovejoy was in it!
Overall, loved it. Want to watch the next one asap.
