Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

2:07 Didn’t start with the big fight from the last film. Oh well.
6:50 “Now go get your Mustang back.”
10:34 Rocky telling the story of his proposal is the best.
14:44 Those are some scary nails she’s got.
19:02 No one gets to stand on those steps unless sanctioned by Rocky.
21:36 The size of Viktor’s arms! No way I’m going to fight that!
27:54 Is that our first reference to Muhammad Ali in this series?
33:13 This is a harsh movie. So mean. So many bad memories.
40:01 Wow, Ma Creed is a wise lady.
48:24 Now he’s doing what his dad did and going over the top with the entrance razzmatazz.
56:52 Couldn’t watch any of that.
59:09 Rocky, stop breaking my heart.
1:08:31 I was not expecting that! She looks better now than she did then!
1:10:10 I feel so bad for that poor mixed up Russian kid.
1:19:02 I thought the son was in Vancouver? That can’t possibly also be a number starting with 555.
1:22:49 “She ain’t feeling sorry for herself and you shouldn’t either.” Rocky wisdom.
1:38:18 Epic montages.
1:40:45 Bitch.
1:43:46 Sort of can’t concentrate until I know who’s looking after the baby.
1:45:51 Bianca’s basically taking on the whole of Russia.
1:48:29 Take the pain is different to no pain. The message has changed.
1:55:04 BITCH! That poor kid.
1:58:13 The towel. I’m in pieces.

This is just like what happened with Fast & Furious 7. I didn’t think I was going to like the series, but gradually, as you work through each film, you get more and more invested in all of it and then they kill you off with an emotional sequel that knocks you for six.

This one, honestly. For the most part, my feelings from Creed continue – I like Adonis and Bianca, but Rocky is still the heart of it all. This one wasn’t about the future though, it was about the past coming back to haunt you.

So many emotions throughout the whole thing but mostly just feeling sorry for everyone being trapped in the situation. Creed feeling like he has no choice, Drago Jr being used as a pawn in a very difficult game, and poor, poor Rocky who just felt more and more lonely as time ticked on.

I couldn’t watch any of the boxing this time, the first film where I’ve not managed to see any of it, but covered my eyes the whole time. Even with that, I was still completely hooked on the whole story and in absolute pieces by the end. Might take a while to get over this one.
