1:33 - Aren’t most cookies sugar cookies? 2:03 - Belgravia. Uh-huh. 7:33 - “How could I have been in Chicago?” Uh… got on a plane? 11:03 - She just shook her hands with herself. Weird. 16:41 - They haven’t talked about whether she can do an accent or not. 19:23 - “Do I really sound so Downton Abbey?” 23:46 - The hair is the first thing I would notice. 29:33 - Oh no, the plan is going awry already. Whodathunkit! 32:50 - Just keep saying “super”, that’ll make you American. 39:06 - “With you. With me. With… I don’t know, us?' 42:06 - That old guy is far too creepy for comfort. Butting his nose into everything. 49:53 - I wanna play a piano duet with Prince Gunnar. 58:36 - “A gesture isn’t what Christmas is about.” 1:01:20 - His face at the light saber! Very cute. 1:01:29 - She’s not going to play Twister in that skirt. 1:05:28 - “It’s always dignified to be kind, Frank.” 1:10:47 - They’re watching Netflix Chrsitmas films in a Netflix Christmas film. I can’t even!! 1:14:33 - She’s wrong, the necklace is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. 1:23:42 - How are they getting out of this situation? It’s stressing me out. 1:24:51 - The cable has clearly been cut, why can’t they just ask for another one? 1:36:04 - Vanessa got to kiss all the boys making this movie.
This wasn’t quite as good as I hoped it was going to be, but it was entertaining enough and certainly one of those schmaltzy Christmas films that we were looking for.
There were good characters in this, but it was a terrible script. It didn’t feel convincing enough that firstly she would come up with this idea and secondly they would both just go along with it. Also that they wouldn’t be more surprised to have found someone who looks exactly like them.
I also had a lot of issues with the creepy Guardian Angel guy, and I felt like the butler changed his tune very quickly at the end for no apparent reason.
But don’t get me wrong, it was fun and frivolous and Sam Palladio was adorable.
