4:17 - “Dammit, I’m using my left eye?” Oh, that’s so me. Rubbish at winking. 6:35 - These are some genius opening credits. Could watch this all day. 9:04 - Why is alien goo always green? Bleurgh. 14:39 - “You just need to find a woman who is pathetic. Like you.” 17:37 - Quantum asteroid field is AMAZING. 23:30 - Trash panda! 29:53 - I don’t remember Drax being this funny before. 31:43 - Zardu Hasselfrau and his magic boat. That’s a TV show I wanna see. 32:28 - “What if this man is your Hasselhoff?' 41:27 - Tricksy bandit math. 55:57 - Just two gods playing throw and catch with an energy ball. As ya do. 58:13 - “This gross bug lady is my friend.” 1:06:43 - I mean, ffs, it’s impossible to watch Baby Groot without dying of cuteness. 1:13:41 - “You know what? This is not Cheers after all.” 1:15:55 - That is some real sisterly rage she’s got going on. 1: 21:11 - The bridle of the cosmos is an interesting concept. 1:24:18 - STAN! So meta to be doing a cameo in a movie, referencing your other cameo in your other movie. 1:30:53 - Rocket is in Thunderbird 4. 1:35:18 - She almost did “he’s so fluffy I’m gonna die!” 1:43:58 - “I’m Mary Poppins, y’all.” 1:51;18 - CHOOOON! 2:02:51 - Oh my god, Zune tho.
I sort of can’t sum up my feelings about this film, it was so good. It’s just over two hours long, but quite honestly, it took us about four hours to watch because we had to keep pausing and rewatching the awesomeness. The David Hasselhoff bit, the Zune, Baby Groot being adorable, Drax being hilarious, it was all just brilliant.
I loved that we got to learn more about the characters, and see them interact together more and develop deeper relationships. The journey that Rocket goes on sort of crept on me but was really quite moving. The end, with the funeral and the music, well I was in tears, I don’t know about anyone else.
It was brilliant, and quotable, and already I want to watch it again.
