Title: American Pie 2 Director: J. B. Rogers Year: 2001 Run time: 1hr 48m
Our intent in watching the first American Pie film was to remind ourselves of the characters so that we could watch the new American Reunion film, after the trailer looked quite good. Somehow, we convinced ourselves that we should watch the other two films in between as well, although not those extra ones that don’t really count.
1:50 - Already there is an impending sense of embarrassment and we’re only two minutes in. 2:05 - “I think I bring new meaning to the word cool.” He does though! That’s what’s weird. 6:12 - I miss summer holidays. So many weeks off. 8:24 - Stifler’s mom is a goddess. 10:24 - They’re quite an annoying couple. Is it wrong I’m glad she is leaving? 13:32 - “Touch me, I bite.” 19:20 - Her accent has gotten so much worse. Or she has far too many lines. 24:05 - It seems odd to me that they could move to the beach house without having the jobs. 25:13 - He’s just about to give her a whole load of new stories to tell. 26:34 - “This one time, at… here.” 38:16 - Why would they still be friends with Finch? He’s smug as! 39:06 - Hang on, is this an American film that didn’t go to Paris? Madness! 43:48 - I want a walkie talkie. 49:56 - Stifler seems to have come off worse in both those situations. 59:52 - Good songs! 1:06:32 - Just… what do you say? 1:13:36 - Michelle is awesome. 1:20:52 - “Different doesn’t necessarily mean worse.” 1:24:45 - He sounds just like her. So cute. 1:27:06 - She caught an earlier flight to surprise him and he wasn’t in bed with someone else? What kind of crazy film is this? 1:29:21 - He’s gone to band camp to find her but I thought she went home? 1:36:07 - Noooo, Stifler’s mom can’t have a name.
This was very similar to the first but not as good. I had seen it before, but I didn’t know it until it got to a moment that I suddenly remembered. I don’t have much to say about it really, I quite like the recurring jokes - like the fact that everyone knows Jim because of the video on the internet, the Milf boys, and any time Stifler’s mother is mentioned. I don’t think this one added much to the story, though.
