0:29 Films that start with gushing waves always worry me in case it is secretly Jaws.
3:12 That’s the guy from Scrubs.
5:45 Why do Special Agents have to get bricks from the bottom of a pool at all? Let alone blindfolded!
10:42 Keanu called a hotshot again, yay!
13:31 If everyone is laughing at his theory, why would they fork out for surf lessons?
20:55 I wonder how surfing came about. Did it seem like a good idea to jump on a bit of wood to beat the waves?
24:31 Just realised I hadn’t seen Swayze in anything other than Dirty Dancing and Ghost, both of whom were kinda dweeby characters. This is interesting.
29:30 Are we supposed to know what a point break is? I’m guessing it is to do with the wave but they probably could have done with explaining it to him (and therefore us).
40:32 It seems as though being a dedicated surfer has its perks - such as being about to walk about in bare feet all the team.
42:57 Ah, they are in the middle of the sea, at night, with crashing waves. That must have been impossible, no wonder the overdubbing is pretty awful!
54:17 Who knew a lawnmower could cause quite so much trouble? It screwed them up by being loud, and then was used as a weapon.
59:41 Calvin & Hobbes is good. I would probably let him off almost missing the robbery if he was reading that.
1:01:55 I suppose that shooting in the middle of the street kinda blows your cover.
1:05:39 How can he possibly follow him all that way? At each turn there are about four different options, left, right, over the fence, through the small gap. Also, I’d be knackered after about three steps, but that’s why I’m not in the FBI.
1:15:54 They couldn’t have picked a better day for jumping out of a plane. It’s beautiful.
1:19:33 I reckon landing on water like that would still hurt your knee. My knee feels weird, maybe in sympathy?
1:26:26 I don’t actually believe he would go along with the robbery business. If he did go in the bank, he wouldn’t start shouting at people.
1:34:53 The gunshots are really quite graphic.
1:37:07 It’s like a film of two halves. The first bit was all surf porn, now it’s all guns and shouting a lot.
1:49:20 Must be really hard to fight in double denim. It’s heavy when it is wet.

This film came up in conversation during our live Film Watch show on Sidepodradio. I had never really heard of it, and then a week or so later, it appeared on the BBC iPlayer. How could I not give it a go? Keanu is yummy!

I’m not really interesting in surfing at all, but I did like this. Perhaps it was Keanu. Either way, it’s fun to watch a good cop drama with an unusual premise. There was a little bit too much swearing but it wasn’t really obnoxious, so I’m down with that. Plus, Keanu was in it.
