2:47I don’t enjoy this world! So many thoughts that don’t need airing.
6:31I can see me adopting ‘control your noise’ into my vocabulary.
11:26Whenever there are amazing forests like this, I always wonder where they filmed them.
13:53“The mayor likes me, better than his boy.”
22:24She’s not all alone though, Spiderman will help Spacegirl.
27:54He really does like the blonde hair.
30:30The VFX people on this must have had a great time thinking about what thoughts look like.
32:31It’s a very confusing world that has spaceships and futuristic motorbikes but also mayors on horses.
36:09Thoughts are fun sometimes though. “Yea.” “I have no idea.”
45:59And we’re at the point where I just want a movie of these two walking around being hilarious.
1:00:06“Sorry, I didn’t mean to think that.” He’s so adorable!
1:08:39I can believe they killed off all the women, but did they have a plan for the future because…
1:14:07“That’s not protecting me, that’s lying to me.”
1:22:05When dogs chase their tails they look so silly, why do they do that?
1:24:46So many Star Wars coincidences.
1:28:21Full on Tomb Raider right now.
1:38:37“It’s growing on me?”

Thoughts

Wow, what a great film. It took a while for the premise to sink in and become comfortable - it was overwhelming to start with, as I’m sure it was for Viola. As she said “it’s loud”. And when I say it became comfortable, it was never that. Uncontrollable thoughts is something I’ve wrestled with in my time, so this opened up lots of interesting angles to approach that from.

It was a creative idea, and I loved the way Tom Holland handled it - in fact, I was trying to think of anyone else who might have been able to pull this off in the same way, it requires a certain set of skills. Hard-core enough to make the stand, vulnerable enough to fight his thoughts, charming enough to make it cute, etc, etc.

And it wasn’t the perfect story, obviously very inspired by other things but supremely interesting and entertaining. Top notch!
