Set at Christmas time, Godmothered is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training who tries to prove her worth by showing the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom who has given up on the idea of Happily Ever After but Eleanor is determined to prove her wrong.

It’s another film with an odd premise - someone (?) is going to shut down the fairy godmother school so to stop that happening the only young eager godmother left heads down to earth to save the day. It takes ages to get going, you have to really like Jillian Bell to stick with it.
Once she finds Isla Fisher and their relationship actually starts to develop, it got better, and there are some generally funny moments and some good messages. It sort of feels like Disney are trying to rewrite their own history, or at least prove that they are trying to change.
A bizarre, flawed, but somehow still entertaining!
