1:47I mean, I wake up before my alarm but he’s taking that to the next level.
5:37I don’t like the yearbook thing they do of “most likely to…”
12:36Why does everyone on TV keep running down the middle of the road?
17:48Coming out of an alley and having to decide whether to go left or right is like a nightmare.

36:17Uh, trouble is the car that is upside down has an exhaust pipe. Could they not justify scrapping a new electric?

43:04She hasn’t totally thought through the fact that live streaming loses them the element of surprise.
45:28This guy is busting up his own house!
52:28He can’t shoot him too, though, or he’ll have killed both brothers.

Thoughts

This film completely crept up on me. We were looking for some kind of mindless action to distract from the world right now, and Apple had discounted this one as a rental, so in a rare decisive mood, I just went for it. I wasn’t expecting anything and actually it was a pleasant surprise.

You absolutely have to go into it with the right attitude though because I couldn’t stand here and argue it’s actually a really good thriller. There’s a significant suspension of belief required, and you have to roll with the fact that the live streaming is a key plot device but doesn’t really stack up in context.

However, Eckhart and Eaton work really well together, with great banter that makes the best of their differences in age, gender and life philosophy, where it could have been a really awkward watch. I surprised myself by enjoying the movie from start to finish, and was super glad we got away with a happy ending!
