Thoughts

I saw this promoted as a teen movie version of Love Actually, and although skeptical, I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to that reputation. Perhaps the connections are slightly less tenuous, because this is about a group of teenagers from the same town who all end up at the same waffle house, but still, how they get there is the real meat of the story.

I really liked it. It had a little bit of everything, all the storylines you’d expect: friends forever but one of them wants more, girl who wants to get away from home but can’t, friends who fall out, secret lovers, and more. But it all also has a unique twist that was kinda refreshing: the pigs, the very slow car chase, hiding out in a church, the cheerleader/waitress situation, and everything to do with the singer experimenting on his day off.

It wasn’t aimed at me but I just enjoyed it from tentative start to joyous finish.
