God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert

This was a weird one, taking place so much later than all the others with so much time passed. I couldn’t quite get my head around what Leto II was, even though there were plenty of descriptions, as gross as they all were. I did like the way it ended, that was good, and Siona was a really good strong female character - that’s something this series has done quite well. I was intending to read all the six original Dune novels but if I’m honest, I think I’m done with them now.

George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl

I always remember enjoying this book as a kid - maybe it’s where an interest in cooking came from? Although then again, hopefully not! I remember the mixing up of all the ingredients taking much longer and being a much bigger part of the process, but actually it only takes up a third of the book. The rest is all about the father’s greed and the resulting repercussions of trying to replicate just a little bit of magic. Still fun though.

This is such a blast from the past. I reckon this might have been one of the first audiobooks I listened to when I was a kid. I don’t know why or what made me choose it, but I vividly remember the opening lines. It might also be why I’m so fond of Tony Robinson, as he’s clearly a voice from when I was younger.
