Baking on an industrial scale

My dad sent me a link to this video, showing some bakers having great fun as they make heaps of loaves of all different shapes and sizes. I find it oddly fascinating, the sheer amounts of flour flying around, and the perfection and regulation of the dough!

  1. Love the video. The guy has definitely got some skill and the dough looks fantastic. As does the finished bread.

    The only thing the bakery is missing in my opinion – as it’s one of my favourite things to see – is the conveyor belt / retractable tongue contraption you sometimes see for getting the bread in and out of the oven.

  2. this made me think that as much as i love baking i would haaaate to do it on a commercial scale and i’d hate even more to do it for 8 hours a day, every day.
