The London Marathon is just around the corner

marathon abstract

In 2004, I said:

So, I’m watching the crazy people running the London Marathon, I do not understand how anyone can manage to run that far… I have trouble running to my car when it’s raining! I think it’s great though, all those people raising money for charities and coming together to do something worthy like that.

I really just want to note this day down in history, because it could be the first day in my entire life that I don’t think the people running the London Marathon are completely mad.

It’s still a massive distance and I have no desire to attempt it, but my views have changed exponentially over the last year or so.

  1. Hah! Funny how things change 🙂

One year I am determined to enter the London Marathon. No matter how unfit, I will do it! I wonder if it’s on my life list…

  2. I smell someone gearing up for their first marathon. Perhaps not for a couple of years to come.

Like me they never thought they’d manage one and then suddenly after a few clicks on a website they’ve entered!! 🙂

  3. I understand completely – I haven’t made it anywhere near as far as you, even a 5K is still a long way off for me, but I’ve started thinking that maybe, just maybe, one day, in many years time, I’d kind of maybe like to do one. Just because I think it’d be totally awesome to be able to say that you’d done that.
