Superleague round 2 – Assen race 1 report

I hadn’t planned to watch the racing this weekend, but I woke up with two minutes to spare, so I grabbed the laptop and watched.

Franck started the first race in second, lining up on the first row. During the outlap, he backed the pack up a little, and when the pace car disappeared, he had a great first bid to try and overtake for P1. He didn’t make it stick and settled for second.

When the pit window opened, he had a great inlap, catching right up to the leader again, but there was a bit of bungling with the jack that lost im some time.

It was of no matter though, because only a few minutes after the pit stop, Franck pulled to the side of the track, car failing beneath him.

Motorsport is very harsh, but all is not lost. He will start quite high up on the reverse grid of race 2. Let’s hope for better luck!
