Here we are, then, eleven weeks on, and my gardening adventure has come to its conclusion.
Most of the stuff died. The lettuce seemed to expire. I cleared out the strawberry pot, and I was left with a weird Jekyll & Hyde tomato plant.
The tomatoes are at least trying to turn red now. I am not sure whether I should pull them off and ripen them, or if I am supposed to leave them on there until they are red and beautiful.
Either way, they are the only bit of the plants that are looking good. The cucumber never got any bigger, and simply shrivelled away. The leaves are turning yellow, and I don’t know what went wrong.
Meanwhile, the rest is gone.
I have still been watering them regularly, giving them the occasional dose of food, and hoping for the best, but I have come to the conclusion that I really am not good at this. Almost three months of growing, and the only edible produce I got was three strawberries and some lettuce leaves.
I am not sad about this. I had a fabulous time tending to my plants, and learning along the way. However, I got bored with the lack of results, and I don’t want it to become a chore.
The great gardening adventure has come to an end. Thank you for sharing it with me, and no doubt I’ll be embarking on another adventure soon.
