Did I share too much?

Of course, after saying I had not experimented with the share feature on Google Reader, I went and clicked on the button and now I’m hooked.

It’s like bookmarking things on Delicious but so much easier!

I’ve only been using it for about 12 hours, but already it’s the best thing since the last best thing and before the next best thing. There’s even a selection of my latest shared items in the column to your right – displayed in all their WordPress Widgety wonder.

It is worth subscribing to the page, though, if you’re interested in things like this. Google allows you to put a note with the items that you share, and the links in the sidebar seem to miss out those snippets.

The other issue with this new found sharing goodness is that it does make my previous post slightly redundant. It’s going to be a bit of a faff to find an item I want to share in Net News Wire and then have to navigate through to share it. In Google Reader, it’s just one button. Perhaps it is browsers for the win, after all.

ah-ha. but… you are using NNW beta

There are some things we know are incomplete or are still on the to-do list:
You can’t share or ‘like’ items yet, or view shared items (yours or your friends). Still on the to-do list.

    give ’em chance.

  2. my only complaint is, sharing arbitrary urls (as a note), is a bit of a pain compared to delicious. if a site doesn’t have a feed, it might be more hassle than it’s worth.
