I’ve noticed, and we’re only two posts in, that doing this Blogathon means that I will never be unsure of the time for during the next 24 hours. Each time I write a post, I am checking what the time is, and which particular half an hour I am relating to this time.
This doesn’t really make a change because I am always aware of the time. It’s a rare day that I go out without my watch on, and at work, my eyes are always flicking to the clock on the wall. Although, to be fair, that’s just because I’m counting down the hours till I get to go home.
My boss relies on me to timekeep for her as well. If she needs to leave for lunch at a particular time, she asks me to nudge her and tell her to go. If she needs to do a particular job or make a phone call by a specific time, I am the one who has to remind her. I don’t mind it, as long as I don’t get the blame if she still doesn’t manage to get it done.
Yesterday, she asked me how I always knew what the time is. She never knows what time it is, and if no one else went home at five o’clock, she would probably stay there all night.
I didn’t know what to say. Why do I always know what the time is? I’m just constantly aware of what the time is, and if I don’t know, I have to find out otherwise my head will explode. It’s bizarre.
